Dragster's Dixseption Battle Hymn
The Hamster

To the tune of 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic' by Julia W. Howe (1861)
Performed in Febraury 2005 at Dixseption

We were just one half of Filklite when we went to Sixteen Tones
He played on his blue guitar while I helped man the microphones
but it was when we played My Hamster's Out To Get Me on our own
That the band was truly formed

*Start Chorus*

Dragster will be at Dixseption
You'll see Dragster at Dixseption
Come see Dragster at Dixseption
And we hope you like our show

*End Chorus*

Well the dragon and the hamster fanbases were rather small
So the band was christened Dragster to incorporate them all
Then we impressed some folk at Swiggle singing Captain Bugger All
Just so we could let you know

-- Chorus --

Well we quickly got our names down and we booked an hours set
Though we hadn't written half the songs that we were singing yet
But we still had seven months in which to feud and fuss and fret
Till our songs are good to go

-- Chorus --

Then we emailed Brian Biddle with considerable speed
And informed him of the technical equiptment we would need
Just a microphone for each of us and Peter's guitar lead
So that we can do our show

-- Chorus --

Well the writing and the preperations all seem rather fun
But there's nothing down on paper saying that we'll even come
So we'll have one full price ticket and one unwaged when we're done
And we'll definitely go!

-- Chorus (Slower Last Line) --
