A few years ago, I would never have believed that I would be part of a band performing to crowds of people at filk conventions now. A few years ago, I didn't even know what filk was! But, after spending a couple of years in the filk community, I finally plucked up the courage to sing, go to conventions, and feel like I was a part of something really special.

I have written a few songs for the band, including 'Titanium Sky', which I think is our darkest and most serious so far. I have to admit, though, my favourites are mostly the ones that I haven't written. I think we've got a good variety of song styles, although we certainly tend more towards the light hearted comedic style at present. But, since that matches the style of set we tend to perform, I'm not too worried. If anyone ever does spot me writing more depressing songs, be concerned. I tend to only write depressing things when I'm sad or stressed.

I attribute any ability I have to hold a note to the fact that I spent most of the time since my teen years humming the music to various videogames when no-one else was listening. I've never had any kind of vocal or musical training, and for a long time (and still sometimes today) was too scared to sing a single note in front of anyone. Fortunately, that finally changed, and now I am proud to be both a part of filk music, and a part of Dragster, helping to entertain people through music, which is something I very much enjoy doing.
